![]() ![]() I’m having a weird problem at attempting to create a new folder while in List view which I classify as a bug in ‘Folders on Top’ feature. Only current resolution is to quit TotalFinder to go back to ordinary Finder I. In the list view this means that the 7 items on the top can’t be viewed. If I scroll up I can see them partly but it scrolls back as soon as I let go of the mouse. For all views except Cover flow, the topmost items are hidden. I’m testing TotalFinder v 1.7.3 under 10.11 and I understand the SIP situation with 10.11 and I have this temporarily disabled while I test TotalFinder. Since some time (6+ months or more) I’ve had an issue viewing folder contents. If you want to convert Finder in a modern and productive file explorer for the current century, try XtraFinder and FinderPop.įinderPop FinderPop review from Rocketink.Hello. So I think that TotalFinder got first, but XtraFinder is getting better in each release. There are more features worth checking (selecting files using patterns for example). These are the main reasons that made me switch to XtraFinder. This is about the only reason I use TotalFinder frankly I don’t understand how anyone can work with the Apple default. Support templates (also, I use FinderPop for this)ĭisplay a panel to select destination, and save last used path I just updated to Mojave 10.14.4, disabled SIP but can’t seem to get Folders on Top. This feature requires some work, as it looks rather odd. Please keep in mind that the app is an add-on which. This is not a problem of TotalFinder but Finder itself. These are the reasons: TotalFinder v.1.6.2 XtraFinder v0.23 Today I've installed XtraFinder and I'm considering never look back. The developer appears to be struggling with the issue of integrating the tab bar with the split view.nother extremely welcome feature is cut and paste. I had already paid my TotalFinder license so I didn't considere try or switch. Totalfinder arrage all folder Yes, the Finder as-is does not ship with cut and paste all it can do is copy and paste. Not so long ago XtraFinder appeared as a free alternative. I've been using TotalFinder since the first versions, just for the tabs and folders first features. If you want to improve Finder (I said improve, not replace (PathFinder, Forklift)) you have 2 options: TotalFinder, XtraFinder. ![]() It's a shame that apple sells OSX as the most modern OS and it has a so limited file explorer. As a totally obsessed "best tool for the job" osx user I need to keep looking for new apps or for better apps than the ones I'm using now.Īs a lot of users I spend a high percent of my time using the OSX Finder. ![]()
